Web to TIFF (Web to FAX) Description

Purpose:
To provide a simple customizable WEB interface for users to upload a DOC or other Windows file for faxing. Support for multiple fax addresses and customized coverpages. Fax connectivity options include using a third party ASP, using an OEM maintained web site, or using the customer premise equipment.

Solution:
A WEB interface that accomplishes the following:
|
|
1)
|
User logs onto a specified web site and signs in.
|
|
2)
|
User uploads a Word document or other Windows file type to send.
|
|
3)
|
User previews results of the upload in a multi-frame window. The left frame is used to display the thumbnails. The right frame is used to display the current rendered page.
|
|
4)
|
User enters fax address information, and submits the document to be faxed.
|
|
5)
|
The user is notified via email of the fax transmission status (success or failure).
|
|
|
|
Implementation Details:
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ImageMAKER Web to Fax product is designed for ease of installation and integration.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The simplest scenario is that the customer is upgraded to Web Based Faxing, with the OEM hosting the web page and fax service. The customer is then charged according to fax usage.
No need for the customer to install or maintain any software.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Once the customer is comfortable with Web Based Faxing, they may want to reduce their transmission costs by purchasing an OEM supplied fax server. In this case, the OEM still hosts the web page and handles the document conversion, but rendered fax images are sent out via the customer’s premise. The customer then assumes responsibility for all faxing related issues.

|
|
|
Finally, if the customer wants to handle all web hosting and rendering issues themselves, they can install the Web Based Faxing product on their own web site, and manage all web and conversion related issues internally. In this case, the OEM has no further responsibilities other than to provide product support and software upgrades.
|
|
|
|
|
|
To make the OEM’s job easier, ImageMAKER development also provides a hosting service (ASP) that allows the OEM to sell Web Based Faxing without having to install any software on its own customer premise. In this case, sales to customers are still done by the OEM, with ImageMAKER handling all web hosting and rendering issues.
